A repeat customer with a builder that has dependability, integrity, and quality workmanship at the heart of his business. Having engaged S.I. Construction for a building project in 2021 (please see previous review) it was an easy and reassuring choice to make, when we decided to update and remodel our Kitchen and Dining Room from two separate small rooms into a larger more open plan space, as well as fitting bi-fold doors out into the conservatory.
The project was something that we had planned to do for many years and in 2023 the time felt right, and the project became something that we looked forward to commencing, knowing that Simon would be overseeing all aspects of the work.
Aware that Simon is always fully booked, I contacted him almost a year in advance of the start date and this is something I would recommend; an exceptional, sought after builder is always going to be remarkably busy and we were fully prepared to wait.
As is Simon’s constant and unswerving methodology, on the start date, he and his team arrived early, and it was all systems go and from then on and we quickly saw our plans, ideas and dreams start to take shape and bought fully to life.
Simon’s communications with us, as his customers, was again exceptional. We knew exactly when and what work was being done each day.
Such was our trust with him, that we gave him a key to our house and although my wife works from home the majority of the time, on the occasions that she needed to be elsewhere, we felt completely confident and at ease that the incredibly high standard of workmanship would continue and we would find more aspects of the project completed and progress made, with our house left clean and tidy, on our return.
Again though, it was Simon’s approach of going the extra mile that makes such a difference. In our original consultation with Simon, we had discussed how the ceilings of the two rooms would look and it was very much left, that we would see how the ceiling trusses lay, before committing to one continual ceiling or some sort of decorative cloaking divide between the two rooms.
On opening the ceiling, we found that the trusses lay favourably to us and although it created more work, more time on site and a lot more plastering, there was no question or suggestion from Simon or his team that they would proceed down the easy, quick, shortcut option, whilst remaining within the original budget.
Having one continual ceiling above the two rooms has made such a difference to the feeling of space. Neither room are large rooms, but that extra detail, that professional, built in “want,” to do the best for the customer, which could have been so easily ignored, due to the extra work required, has created a space that we are over the moon with and surpassed what we imagined our project would look like.
It is my belief, that if you are looking for a building contractor to start your project tomorrow, you can find one easily. If however you are looking for a building contractor that will bring with them an outstandingly talented and trustworthy team, attention to detail, excellent communication and a driven desire to do the best for their customer, and you are prepared to book ahead and wait, then be patient, don’t waste your hard earned money elsewhere; sit back and relax, knowing that your project, once begun will be completed beyond your expectations by S.I. Construction.
When it comes to our next building project I will be picking up the phone to Simon and doing exactly the same.
We would not go anywhere else for building work.
